We are seeking an experienced OT Engineer to join one of our client's dynamic team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of OT systems and services. You will work closely with clients to understand their operational needs and develop tailored solutions that integrate OT systems with IT infrastructure, ensuring robust, secure, and efficient operations.
Role Summary: The OT Engineer position is focused on designing, implementing, and supporting Operational Technology (OT) systems within various industries. The role involves integrating OT systems, such as SCADA, PLC, and DCS, with IT infrastructure, ensuring secure and efficient operations. The OT Engineer will lead projects, provide ongoing support, and implement cybersecurity measures, all while working closely with clients to meet their specific operational needs. This position requires strong technical skills in OT systems, IT integration, and cybersecurity, as well as the ability to manage projects and engage with clients effectively.
Key Responsibilities: System Design and Implementation:
Design and implement OT systems such as SCADA, DCS, PLC, and other control systems for various industries.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the seamless integration of OT systems with existing IT infrastructure.
Develop customized OT solutions based on client requirements, focusing on optimizing performance, reliability, and security.
Integration and Interoperability:
Lead the integration of OT systems with enterprise IT systems, ensuring real-time data exchange and operational continuity.
Implement secure communication protocols and interfaces between OT and IT systems, such as OPC UA, MQTT, and Modbus TCP/IP.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures for OT environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations such as IEC 62443 and NERC CIP.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits of OT systems, identifying and mitigating potential vulnerabilities.
Operational Support and Troubleshooting:
Provide ongoing support for OT systems, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to minimize downtime.
Develop and implement maintenance strategies for OT systems, ensuring long-term reliability and performance.
Project Management:
Manage OT projects from conception to completion, including defining project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
Client Engagement and Support:
Work closely with clients to understand their operational challenges and provide expert advice on OT system optimization and integration.
Deliver training and support to client teams on the use and maintenance of OT systems.
Documentation and Reporting:
Create detailed technical documentation, including system designs, configuration guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Prepare and present reports on OT system performance, security, and project status to clients and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in OT engineering, with a strong background in designing, implementing, and supporting OT systems.
Proven experience in integrating OT systems with IT infrastructure in sectors such as manufacturing, energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in OT systems and protocols, including SCADA, PLC, DCS, and relevant communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT).
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking, cloud computing, and cybersecurity best practices.
Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and standards applicable to OT environments (e.g., IEC 62443, NIST, NERC CIP).
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong project management abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
