Developer - AS/400 Equation

Job Summary:
The Developer - AS/400 Equation will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the Finastra/Misys Equation Core Banking System. This role requires hands-on experience in AS/400 RPG development, L2 support, system testing, and integration of banking applications. The candidate will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure system efficiency, resolve technical issues, and implement enhancements aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide L2 support for the Finastra/Misys Equation Core Banking System, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. Maintain and enhance in-house AS/400 applications to support banking operations. Develop and modify user exits and programs within the Equation environment. Perform system testing, bug fixes, and code reviews to ensure stability and performance. Coordinate with Finastra for issue resolution, patches, and upgrades. Assist in the deployment of system enhancements and ensure smooth integration with other banking applications. Collaborate with testing teams to validate system functionality and performance. Ensure compliance with SDLC methodologies and best practices in software development.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of three years of experience in AS/400 development with expertise in Finastra/Misys Equation.
  • Strong understanding of core banking concepts such as General Ledger postings, loan calculations, and End-of-Day processing. Proficiency in AS/400 RPG programming,
  • Applications Command Language, and Object-Oriented Design. Experience in system integration, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Previous experience in the banking or financial sector is preferred.

Selection Criteria:

  • Proven experience in AS/400 development and Finastra/Misys Equation.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills in resolving complex system issues.
  • Ability to provide L2 support, troubleshoot system errors, and implement solutions.
  • Effective coordination with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while managing workload efficiently.
