Position Summary: The Cloud Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and managing enterprise-grade systems within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. This role focuses on building secure, scalable, and automated infrastructure while supporting Windows-based workloads and hybrid environments. The engineer ensures high availability, performance, and compliance of Azure-hosted services, while driving automation and modernization efforts across the IT landscape. Core Responsibilities: Azure Infrastructure Design & Deployment:
Design and implement cloud solutions using Azure IaaS/PaaS services (VMs, VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, Storage Accounts).
Deploy and configure Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and hybrid identity solutions (Azure AD Connect).
System Administration & Support:
Administer Windows servers, SQL including patching, backup, and configuration management.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across Azure infrastructure and services using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC) :
Build and maintain environments using ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
Automate common tasks and deployments using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Azure Automation.
Security & Compliance:
Implement security controls including role-based access control (RBAC), Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Azure Policy.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards through secure configurations and auditing.
Collaboration & DevOps:
Work with development and DevOps teams to support CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps and related tools.
Support integration of systems into container platforms like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Azure Container Instances (ACI).
Administering the Backup solutions:
Ensuring the backups are configured as per business requirement.
Monitoring the solution and performing restoration activities. Expertise in Veaam back-up is an added advantage
Key Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, with at least 3+ years in Azure environments.
Strong experience with Windows and Linux Server administration in Azure.
Proficiency with PowerShell scripting, Azure CLI, and infrastructure automation tools (ARM, Bicep, Terraform).
Solid understanding of Azure networking, storage, identity and access management, and security best practices.
Familiarity with Azure AD, hybrid identity, and group policy management.
Experience with Veaam back up solution.
Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104),Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305), Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800 and AZ-801) preferred.
