Project Manager

Purpose of the role

Own end-to-end delivery of the data strategy and governance programme. This includes the mobilisation of a multi-disciplinary consulting team, management of the client relationship at senior level, control of scope against a regulatory compliance deadline, and accountability for the quality and timeliness of every deliverable.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain the integrated programme plan covering data strategy, governance framework design, data quality, architecture, change and training workstreams.
• Manage the delivery team across all seven profiles, including resource loading, dependency management and workstream sequencing.
• Act as the primary interface with the client programme sponsor, the data office and the regulatory reporting stakeholders.
• Track compliance obligations arising from national data policy and data standard requirements, and evidence progress against them.
• Manage risk, issue and change control. Escalate early and with options attached.
• Chair steering committee meetings and produce executive reporting suitable for board-level consumption.
• Ensure deliverable quality assurance before client submission.
• Manage commercial performance of the engagement including milestone acceptance.

Mandatory requirements

• PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification, current.
• Minimum 10 years of professional work experience, of which at least 3 years managing programmes of directly comparable type.
• Minimum 4 delivered projects of equivalent data governance programme complexity, delivered for organisations based in the MENA region. Candidates must be able to name the client type, scope, duration, team size and outcome for each.
• Demonstrable delivery experience within the Power and Utilities sector.
• Fluent professional English.

Advantageous

• Arabic language capability.
• Experience with GCC public sector or government-owned entity governance, procurement and approval cycles.
• Familiarity with national data governance regulation in Qatar, UAE or Saudi Arabia.
• Additional credentials such as MSP, PgMP, DAMA CDMP or DCAM.
