Data Architect

Purpose of the role

Define the target data architecture that the governance and quality frameworks will sit on, and ensure architectural decisions are consistent with enterprise architecture standards and national data standard requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assess current-state data architecture, integration patterns and platform landscape.
• Define target data architecture including conceptual, logical and physical layers.
• Design the data model approach for master and reference data across priority domains.
• Define metadata architecture, lineage capture approach and data integration standards.
• Align data architecture with the wider enterprise architecture framework in use.
• Specify technical requirements for governance, catalogue and quality tooling.
• Produce the architecture roadmap and transition states supporting the three-year programme.
• Ensure architectural compliance with national data standard technical requirements.

Mandatory requirements

• Minimum 10 years of professional work experience on relevant and comparable completed projects.
• TOGAF certification or a comparable enterprise architecture credential.
• Demonstrable enterprise-scale data architecture ownership, not solution design at application level only.
• Fluent professional English.

Advantageous

• Power and Utilities sector architecture experience, including CIM (IEC 61968 / 61970) familiarity.
• MENA region delivery experience.
• Cloud data platform experience (Azure, AWS, Oracle, SAP) relevant to the client landscape.
• Master data management design experience.
• DAMA CDMP or vendor architecture certifications.
