Data Quality Specialist
Purpose of the role
Establish the data quality management capability: the dimensions, rules, profiling regime, remediation approach and ongoing monitoring that lift and hold data quality across priority domains.
Key responsibilities
- Define the data quality framework, including quality dimensions, business rules, thresholds and tolerance levels.
- Run data profiling and quality assessment across critical data domains such as customer, asset, network, meter, billing, HR and finance.
- Identify root causes of quality failure and distinguish process defects from system defects.
- Design remediation and data cleansing plans, including prioritisation by business impact.
- Build data quality scorecards, dashboards and issue management workflows.
- Define data quality roles, ownership and the operating rhythm for ongoing monitoring.
- Support tool selection and rule configuration for data quality platforms.
- Contribute to the data trust index methodology alongside the governance workstream.
Mandatory requirements
- Technical or economic academic background.
- Minimum 10 years of professional work experience, of which at least 3 years directly in data quality roles.
- Minimum 1 completed data quality project including implementation support, delivered for an organisation in the MENA region.
- Demonstrable Power and Utilities sector experience.
- Hands-on profiling and rule development capability, not oversight only.
- Fluent professional English.
Advantageous
- Experience with Informatica Data Quality, Talend, Ataccama, Collibra DQ, SAP Information Steward or IBM InfoSphere.
- SQL proficiency sufficient to interrogate source systems independently.
- Exposure to utility-specific data structures: GIS, SCADA, AMI and smart metering, asset registers, CIS and billing platforms.
- Six Sigma or equivalent process improvement credential.
- Arabic language capability.
